Continuum Exxodus Nitryx is a highly porous ceramic filtration medium engineered for both biological and chemical filtration in aquariums and reef systems. Each millilitre delivers enormous internal surface area for beneficial bacteria — supporting aerobic nitrification when flow is appropriate — while also offering vast anoxic zones that foster anaerobic denitrification. The media is doped with sulfur particles, which serve as an electron donor, enabling substantial denitration capacity that helps reduce nitrate levels more effectively than traditional filter media. Designed for slow‑flow placement in reactors, canisters or sumps, it works especially well in reef tanks with live rock, FOWLR setups or any marine/saltwater system where nitrate control is critical. For best results, “seed” the media with a bacterial culture, and place it in a low‑flow, submerged environment to allow the bacterial colonies to establish and thrive.
