Neptune Systems Multi-Purpose Utility Pump

The Neptune Systems PMUP is a compact 24 VDC submersible utility pump designed for a range of tasks in marine and freshwater aquariums — from Auto-Top-Off (ATO) systems and water changes, to running reactors (carbon, GFO, biopellet) or dosing setups. It delivers up to 100 GPH (≈ 380 L/h) at 0 head, and can pump water vertically up to 14 ft (≈ 4.3 m) — enough to raise water between floors or from a basement-level RO reservoir to a display tank.

Operating at just 17–20 W and drawing through a 3/8″ (≈ 9.5 mm) output, the PMUP is energy-efficient yet capable, and its vertical design (bottom intake, top output) is ideal for use in jugs or containers. It features a removable intake screen for easy cleaning, and the latest version (v2) adds an auto shut-off when water runs dry and protection against overheating — useful if the water level drops unexpectedly.

Because the pump connects via a DC24 accessory port (on controllers or power bars from Neptune Systems), it can be integrated into a fully automated aquarium system — turning on/off based on timers, float switches or system conditions, so dosing, top-offs and reactor flow can be managed without manual intervention.
