Nyos Floating Fish Trap

The Nyos Floating Fish Trap is a clever, cordless design that makes catching aquarium fish easy, fast and low-stress. Instead of a pull-line, the trap uses a magnetic release — once a fish enters, remove the magnet and the trap turns 90° and floats, keeping your hands dry. The trap attaches to the tank glass using a magnetic holder, letting you position it near the surface and feed through the included pipette. Its round, transparent body is compact yet spacious enough to feel natural to fish, helping them accept it quickly. Designed for glass or acrylic up to 15 mm thick, the trap has an opening diameter of 72 mm (2.8″) and a body diameter of 150 mm (6″).

Tips for Use:
To get the most from it, give your fish time to adjust—feed through the trap for a few days so it becomes part of their routine. For shy or fast fish, use the pipette to keep food moving inside; for algae-eaters, you can attach algae leaves with the trap’s magnet. When removing shy or dominant fish, tie a string to the magnetic holder so you can detach it from a distance, and consider reducing flow so the food stays in the trap.
