The Red Sea 225 Micron Thin-Mesh Filter Bag is a reusable mechanical filter sock designed for sumps and external filtration systems. Its monofilament mesh traps larger detritus — like uneaten food, fine debris, and suspended waste — while still allowing water to pass through easily, helping to maintain water clarity and reduce the load on downstream filtration. Measuring about 10 cm in diameter and 26 cm long, it fits standard 4″/10 cm filter-sock holders (including Red Sea REEFER and MAX-S systems) — making installation simple and universal. Because the thin-mesh bag is easy to rinse and reuse, it’s especially useful after heavy maintenance, during new system cycling, or whenever particulate levels are elevated.
