Sera Siporax Bio Filter Medium 200l

Sera Siporax Professional is a premium glass-based biological filter media designed for both freshwater and marine aquariums, as well as ponds and sumps. Its sintered-glass grains feature a unique three-dimensional porous structure, giving an extremely large surface area for beneficial bacteria to colonise — a few litres of Siporax provide the same bacterial surface as dozens of litres of conventional ceramic media.

When placed in the final stage of filtration (after mechanical media), Siporax efficiently supports both aerobic and anaerobic bacterial processes, helping break down ammonia and nitrite while also facilitating partial nitrate reduction over time. It’s suitable for internal, external or trickle-style filters, and works equally well in freshwater, marine and pond systems.

Because of its high capacity and self-cleaning properties, Siporax often reduces the frequency of water changes or extensive filter maintenance — a welcome advantage for heavily stocked tanks or busy aquarists.
