Tunze Eco Chic Refugium 8831

The Tunze Eco Chic Refugium 8831 is a submersible, waterproof LED light designed specifically for refugiums and algae / plant cultivation zones in marine or freshwater aquariums. Its spectrum is optimised to promote fast growth of macro‑algae (e.g. Chaetomorpha) or aquatic plants, which helps naturally reduce nitrates and phosphates and stabilise water chemistry. Operating at just 9 W (dropping to 7 W if the temperature rises), it’s energy‑efficient and designed for continuous use. The compact fixture (305 × 25 × 13 mm) includes a magnetic mount compatible with glass up to 10 mm thick. It can be mounted above water or placed 1–2 cm underwater — the waterproof (IP68) build lets it run safely submerged, improving light efficiency and even helping with aquarium temperature regulation.
